Riding Lessons
We offer riding lessons for beginning through advanced riders. Lessons are scheduled on a first come first served basis.
What to expect:
Each lesson is scheduled in 1 hour sessions. Students will spend about 15 minutes grooming and tacking up their horse. The next 35 minutes will be spent in saddle on the horse. The last 10 minutes is spent untacking their horse.
ALL students are required to wear appropriate attire when at the farm. This attire includes:
- An approved equestrian helmet while mounted. (Helmets are available for student use.)
- Protective and proper fitting foot wear (Boots with a walking or riding heel while riding. Optional mud boots may be worn in barn area)
- Long pants (jeans, riding pants, etc. We do not recommend "tight" fitting pants.)
- Shirts must cover the entire torso and not interfere with safe movement of the rider and handling of the animals.
- Weather appropriate coats / jackets, scarfs and or gloves
While each lesson is custom tailored to the student, the first lesson is the same for ALL studtents regardless of their equestrian experience. In the first lesson the student will:
- Meet the instructor
- Review and discuss goals
- Tour the facility
- Meet the horses
- Learn the basics of proper grooming
- Learn proper location and placement of tack
Please inform the instructor of any learning disabilities and or physical / mental disabilities or special needs PRIOR to scheduling appointment. This will assist in selecting the appropriate horse and tack for the lesson.
